President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday said that the vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the legacy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for protecting the rights of common man was being followed by the present leadership. This legacy will be taken forward by the future generations, said President Zardari while addressing notables of area here at Makhdoom House.

The President said Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was a symbol of democracy and had left behind a legacy, which was a source of inspiration for the PPP leadership to improve the socio-economic condition of the people. He said, "We have gathered here to pay tribute to an indomitable fighter for the rights of the poor and marginalised." The President said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto gave voice to the downtrodden people and even laid their lives while fighting for their cause.

"We will continue to follow their footsteps and will never budge from rendering any sacrifice in pursuing the noble mission of great leaders," he added. He said, "We will never leave the poor, marginalised and vulnerable people alone in their fight for their rights". The President the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership believed in addressing the issues of masses, who are the real source of power.

It will not deter by the propaganda of detractors and will continue serving the masses, he said and added, "We believe in making our enemies our friends".President Zardari lauded Makhdoom Muhammad Amin Fahim and his family for their services rendered by them for the sake of democracy during last 45 years.

He said that the next elections would be held in a free, fair and transparent manner. The PPP leadership was ready to go to the court of people, who were the real judge to analyse the performance of the government Earlier, Federal Minister for Trade Makhdoom Muhammad Amin in his welcome address thanked the President for his visit to Hala.

Among others, Sindh ministers Makhdoom Jamil-uz-Zaman, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Syed Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi and Syed Murad Ali Shah, MNAs Makhdoom Rafique, Mir Aftab Shah Jilani and Aftab Shaban Mirani Shagufta Jummani, and Ex-MNA Abdul Sattar Bachani were also present on the occasion.
